Pairing this geranium exclusive print with Now and Then Patterns Evelyn blouse is Uber vintage.

This design is printed onto a soft polyester twill fabric. This fabric has a good weight and drape, similar to crepe but with a diagonal twill weave texture.

It is made from 100 percent recycled polyester fibres with an interesting weave.

I’m so thrilled at how this fabric holds the soft neckline gathers and the gathers at the long sleeve hem. A perfect pairing.

This is a Winter blouse. Yes. It’s Winter in Australia and the Evelyn blouse is really easy to sew and wear.

There’s 1 button at the neckline. That’s it. No zipper needed.

At 160 grams per square metre, the fabric is opaque.

I’m wearing this blouse with trousers using Minerva Core Range 100% cotton drill fabric. 17 shades to choose from and this drill is perfect for any garment.

This colourway is my fav because it brings a pop of strong colours to what can become a really bleak Winter.

When I washed this geranium print, the water was clear. You might think ‘POD fabric will colour bleed’. This POD kept both its colour and brilliant strength.

I’ve found the POD fabrics are worth waiting for. They are printed really well.

Vintage patterns always seem too complicated to try. Now and Then Patterns are amazingly easy to figure out.

1 button is the only closure you need.

By the way, use a white interfacing to ensure the white in the print, looks white. You only need enough interfacing for the neck facings.

The Evelyn blouse and dress design features gathers at the neck and raglan sleeves. The loosely bodice is fitted onto a peplum skirt. A narrow self fabric belt can be used to cinch in the fullness around the waist or alternatively wear a narrow belt. There is a slit, with button closure at the back neck. The sleeve can be long and gathered or short and flared. The skirt of the dress can be cut on the straight grain for flare or on the bias for a more draped & sleeker silhouette.

As you can see, the gathers were perfect using the geranium viscose challis. I chose to wear a skinny black belt to coordinate with my black shoes.

I’m no top model but I do appreciate being able to wear good fitting clothes on a budget. For day to day wear and special occasions, this outfit will look great during the Winter months we’re in right now.
