Butterick 4985 18 years later

Here’s the photo that shows I wore the very first version of Butterick 4985 in New York many years ago.

You could say I love 2 part collars and have kept sewing them for years and years.

I did make sure to test version of this pattern in calico before I cut into this fabric from Cloth Edit. The fabric is by My Dress Made – Naia satin textured viscose blend.

The calico version confirmed the width and fit of my measurements as well as my posture changes. I also tested the calico version on my Mimiquin to double check the fit of this 2026 version.

White interfacing was my choice for the facing and collar pieces.

This version is the right length, the right wide and feels comfortable to wear with any other wardrobe staple.

I will use this pattern sooner than 18 years later.
