#maxiformothersday

maxi-front-1

It’s difficult to knock back a fun challenge. Here’s my maxi using New Look 6263 using a fabric that I found at one of the Brisbane High Tea events I went to a few years ago. Sewing friends are the best!

This fabric is sheer so I wore a racer back slip that I made using a pattern designed by Susan Goodwin of Measure twice cut once patterns.
Back to this maxi, if you look up the New Look 6263 you’ll notice there are no views with the buttons at the front neckline. I got very involved in getting the neckline right then realised the opening was at the back, not the front.

I made lemonade from lemons, and used pearl buttons as a front neckline feature.

Then I grabbed a Pitt Trading remnant and made New Look 6263 again in a knee-length version.

So that’s now 2 personal wins with the same pattern. Two lovely dresses that help me survive humid weather too.

I’ve completed the #sewmaxiformothersday challenge on time!

Thankfully my positive sewing perspective has given me 2 dresses using New Look 6263 in time for Mother’s Day

This challenge was created by @crystalsewsandstuff and @crumpetsteaandsewing. Thank you ladies!
