There’s a little place locally called The Sewing Basket. I visit there from time to time and find fabrics and notions from previous sewing stash owners.

Above is a close up of the final jacket sewn using coating, lining and the zipper from The Sewing Basket.
I’ve used my trusty McCalls 4596

View D is my go to version of this jacket.
Because these fabrics were pre-owned, once I sewed this jacket I had it dry cleaned to make it look sharper.
Less home made.

This jacket has classic princess seams and the front pockets are side seam pockets.
I’ve had a look at ready to wear jackets that have seam pockets in the princess seams. The idea is there but I wouldn’t want to try this and find the pockets gape and scream ‘too tight’.
Mint, spearmint, aqua were some of the colour names I was given to describe this coating colour on the Instagram.
I like it.
In this video, you’ll see the very first version of this McCalls jacket I sewed a very long time ago. I still wear that jacket in the Winter when I really need it.
