Butterick 5926: Perfect Ponte Jacket Pattern

At the start of the cold weather, it’s great to be able to whip up an easy ponte jacket.

Green ponte jacket from my stash is sewn using Butterick 5926 printed in 2013.

Many thanks for Jen and Suzy for running #st4s26 (Sewn Together for Summer) and this year it was about jackets. Just in time for Winter here in Australia.

Butterick 5926 is a go-to jacket pattern that works really well with ponte.

I used interfacing on the collar. Interfacing on the pocket. Edge tape on the hems and the lapel edges. Ponte is a cosy fabric and I wanted this to look more jacket and less cardigan.

Planning how to make sure this ponte stays in shape was all part of the process.

I still have ponte in great colours to try in the future.
