Black version

Part of my sewing strategy is to try and add a black version of the patterns I sew that fit me.

At the end of 2022 in a 6 week period I attended 4 funerals. It was tough for the families and myself and part of attending funerals is to show support and respect to the families and friends.

I’ve now found that having easy to wear black clothes are a staple part of my wardrobe. Unless I’m advised to wear something that’s celebrating the person’s who has passed away, black clothes are what I’m expected to wear.

I guess funerals are more a part of life and I can easily attend them now. No need to ask for ‘personal leave’ anymore.

Above is a closer look at the lace I added at the hem and on the sleeve hems. This is still all black so I’m glad I have this black dress to add to my collection.

Needless to say, the pockets are really useful for these somber occasions too.
