These 2 are the very last #SewAprilBlouse26 entries.
Tailored shirts
These are really shirts I have wanted to wear from fabrics that were in my stash. Once I was on a roll sewing two-part collars, sewing tailored sleeve plackets, sewing perfect buttonholes, I had to make these two shirts now.
The things I love about shirt sewing would be planning; finding the notions at home; constructing the tailored collars and cuffs and finally cutting those buttonholes like a boss.
Yes there is a bit of sewing anxiety along the way, but that’s what an unpicker is for.
Tailored pants
A side issue while I’ve been sewing shirts is I’ve been pairing them with these tailored drill trousers.

Ruth Collins sent me her book and her advice in the book gave me the confidence to resew the front zipper on the trousers.
I took out 2.5cm out of the centre front seam. Yes I unpicked the zipper and waistband.
Tailored pant suit
The great thing by doing this is the front of the trousers fit better and the waistband is now better secured with an internal button and a waistband hook.
Whether you call a matching shirt and trousers a coord, this is pants suit to me.
Liberty print

This Liberty print was purchased in either 2022 or 2023 at Liberty in London. Sheree on Instagram bought the white colourway.
I was drawn to the black colourway because it’s dark and more likely a print I would wear.
Now I have a ‘black’ Liberty shirt I’ll enjoy wearing all year long.
