Asymmetric shirt by me

Honey I shrunk the shirt.

I saw the inspiration for this shirt overseas last year in Arket. While I was in the shop I did try on their version.

The size I tried on was wrong so I did a search online to find it. That’s when I gave drafting this shirt a go at the last day of the Patternmaking classes I attended in February.

Having #SewAprilBlouse26 kick started the actually testing of the pattern draft I did to see if any part of the pattern from February worked.

My version has quite a few changes. Darts. Straight hem. Sleeves on the shoulder. Slimmer collar. Wider cuffs with 2 buttons.

The sleeve placket was my sewing skill stretch target.

And that’s done now. All the fitting changes from this version are now on the pattern I drafted from by bodice block pattern.

In case you’re wondering, the next version will have a slimmer collarband and I’ll shorten the shoulder by 1cm. Maybe cutting the collar on the bias might be interesting to try too.

Both the buttons and fabric are from my stash.
