I think I’ve got the hang of making Classic French jackets using Susan Khalje’s pattern and boucle fabrics.

It’s kinda great that I can include such an iconic jacket style into my ‘signature style’ right now.
In the past I was office bound so I would have teamed my jackets with matching skirts or dresses. Wear heels. Put on some lippy. You know the drill.
My office is at home like many people this year so I’ve loved teaming these classic French jackets with jeans. I wear jeans a lot so this jacket style has been ‘the best ever’ jacket to wear during our really mild Winters.
Definitely the ‘best ever jacket’.

Fabric bought from Linton Tweed’s Carlisle (UK) store at least 7 years ago. In the Linton shop, they sold skirt length pieces. Trim from Jimmy Buttons in Melbourne. Buttons from All buttons great and small in Sydney. Silk lining bought at The Sewing Basket in Sydney.
I love that fabric, I saw this in real life recently and it is the most loveliest green, love the trim too. N
