On the drive north from Greytown, we had a coffee stop at Woodville, just north of Palmerston North.
There’s a fabric emporium there. I never thought I’d see a store like this.
The building was very ‘original’ and the owner turned the shop lights on for me when I walked in the store. The dust and musty smell turned me off staying to too long, especially when the fabric prices were still comparable to fabric retailers.
They had some classic Alexander Henry prints for $32/m. Their upholstery fabrics were $10/m. The owner said he bought the upholstery fabrics from a closing down sale.
