Country shirt

Taking a break at Taronga Park Western Plains Zoo, Dubbo

When I chose this fabric for my latest Minerva Brand Ambassador fabric choices, I wanted to make a shirt that had more room for my size and to cool down after the occasional hot flash.

Mornings at the zoo are all about feeding the animals.

We had a great day visiting Taronga Park Western Plains Zoo in Dubbo.

An inside look into the Royal Flying Doctor Service plane.

After a long day of visiting the zoo, we then visited the Royal Flying Doctor Service visitor centre at Dubbo. This plane is set up like a real plane used to fly people who need urgent medical help in remote areas to hospitals.

At the Royal Flying Doctor Service Dubbo.

This is one of the earliest types of planes used to transport people from remote areas to medical help.

This shirt would be great for pilots too.

This is a flight simulation you can also experience amongst the interactive Royal Flying Doctor Service stories.

As you can see, this cotton blend fabric was for a whole day of visiting places in Dubbo. I’ve used New Look 6407 in a size 14 again because I love the v-neckline and two piece collar.

On this shirt I extended the sleeves and added cuffs. Because the fabric print is a wavy print, I’ve used clear buttons. This print doesn’t need any competing features.

I do like this pattern.

Also if you’re taking your first steps to sewing with plaid prints, this plaid is a variant print. This means the lines are curves so don’t fret if you can’t line them up at the seams.

I’m really pleased that I used clear buttons so the print is the focal point and not the buttons.
