Plain purple

In case you’re wondering..

This super easy dress to sew has some really easy finishes.

Yes this dress is very plain and very wearable.

Linen and cotton in this fabric made my pattern decision making process very easy.

While this dress has no closures, it does have some neckline and sleeve finishes anyone at any skill level can achieve.

The neckline finishes come out much nicer when you iron each stage as you go. Ironing with this fabric is the key to getting a brilliant make from it.

There’s no need to shy away from overlocking the seams.

You may become as addicted as I’ve been with Maven’s French Dart Shift dress too.

As you can see this dress has French darts that make the dress shapely and not too boxy.

I love that there are no closures for this pattern. This is also an easy dress to wear when you are also seated.

One of the changes I made was to raise the pockets up by 2″ so they match where I am most comfortable wearing this dress.

I’ll show you the finishes and the ease in using a simple 3 thread overlocking stitch to finish the seams on this fabric next up.
