Butterick 6828 is one of those pattern I would have overlooked because it’s not the style I would normally choose. And why not?😇

This style has a gathered peplum feature that I don’t normally try. This blouse also has gathers around the yoke.
I saw someone wearing a similar style yoke jacket because it’s winter here and I would like to try that next, while it’s cold here.
My gather phobia kicked in hence my making 2 versions of this pattern. Both fabrics were from my fabric stash.
I’ve used the largest style so that the fabrics are the feature of this pattern.
🙂
All the pattern pieces came together easily and it was kind of fascinating to see where the gathers were placed on the pattern.
My main concern was the blouse closures. I have to place 2 snaps on both versions and I’m not convinced they’re in the right place.

There’s a hint of peek-a-boo to this blouse but maybe that’s fine these days.
I love how this pattern is perfect for soft crepe fabrics and you can choose your fabric colour or print to pair with your existing clothes.
Right now these jeans are what I live in and I’m really pleased this pattern has long enough length to go over my jeans and create ‘a look’ that’s different to my usual look.
Trying a new style is scary and why would you waste your precious time sewing a pattern you’re not sure about.
I can tell you that it’s ok to try new style to see how they suit you.

This blouse is elegant and a wee bit playful. There are photos of my swishing around in this blouse that I may/may not show you. I was having way too much fun modelling this style at home.
