Room clean up leads to purchases

It makes no sense but once I know what I have, I also know what I don’t have.

Many retailers have been clearing out their Summer stock and making way for Winter stock. Some are also selling off their hard copy patterns as well.

Here are the 3 new sewing patterns I purchased from Weft and Warp in Canberra. Their postal service is super fast!

The 4th pattern was XL to 3XL so a pattern making friend was happy to receive The Assembly Line Funnel Neck pattern today.

The Makers Society was also clearing out their hard copy patterns.

I bought some wide lace elastic from The Sewing Basket and when this knicker pattern was on sale, I bought it. Lily of Lilypa Designs is on the podcast – Sew Organised Style podcast – in March so I’m please this has happened right now.

A bunch of us visited Minerva’s Bower last week and 2 fabrics came home with me.

The outfit I’m wearing are fabrics I’ve purchased from Minerva’s Bower via their website. I was also road testing the chambray and poplin using my basic block patterns. They were brilliant to wear in hot humid weather and that’s what I was hoping for.

But on the same day, The Selvedge Society was also having a 25% off their Summer fabrics sale. Well, because linen and cotton make my life more bearable when it’s this hot, a few green linens and an orange red also made it to my sewing room.

Once I wore this green cotton shirt using Merchant & Mills from Miss Maude’s NZ, I had another look at their Instagram account. No intention to buy anything. But an embroidered chambray made it over the ditch.

Would you believe Emma popped in and embroidered green viscose linen sample to me?

She sensed my green obsession. Oh well. Loved the sample fabric!

Lastly I bought a 50c pattern for a few Summer knit tops because I know I have knit fabrics in my stash.
