Finally completed these trousers.

Why did I choose to sew trousers?

Why did I choose a trouser pattern with zipper, pockets and belt loops.

In my travels this year, I wore linen pants with an elastic waistband. Comfy enough but not stylish enough.

Trousers with elastic waistbands are great for comfy wearing but a waistband that fits and stays in place is what I wanted using this fabric.

This fabric is Minerva Core Range Soft Viscose Linen Blend Fabric Cobalt Blue and I was given this as my Minerva Brand Ambassador project that I’m so thrilled is complete and getting lots of wear.

This fabric feels linen like and is so soft to wear. Now that’s what I love about this fabric.

I know this fabric will continue to stay soft and is breathable. That’s something I needed for these trousers.

What I appreciate most about this fabric is its balance of practicality and elegance. It drapes beautifully, feels gentle against the skin, and remains soft even after repeated wear. For travel, these qualities are essential: you want garments that keep you comfortable during long days but still look put‑together when you arrive at your destination. These trousers tick all those boxes.

On the pockets I’ve used Prym FormBand Bias Tape to keep the pockets in shape. That’s something to think about if you’re using this viscose linen fabric for tailored makes.

I’ve used Burda 7746 again. Yes again because I know this is a classic trouser pattern. The pockets sit flat on my body. There’s enough shaping in the body of this pattern that I can sew this style up no matter what size I am.

Did I say this fabric does need ironing but really minimal ironing? This means this fabric is great for travel and the fabric drape has enough swish in it to feel stylish.

I now have these lovely trousers that yes, needs a belt but I love how stylish this outfit feels like. I can go to any location and feel really well dressed.

I’ve paired these trousers with a previous Minerva Brand Ambassador make too. The passionflower print has so many strong summer colours in it that these two makes pair well together.
