✨ Burda x2 – Classic Styles with a Twist ✨

I’ve been diving into some Burda classics @burda_style using gorgeous fabrics from Minervas Bower. @minervasbower
These heavyweight linen and cotton prints have been waiting in my stash for about 18 months – and they were worth the wait! Kylie and Clare always curate fabrics that sewists and quilters love (and now they stock yarn too!).
👖 Trousers: Burda 7746
Originally made as an elastic-back pants style, but honestly… they felt a bit sloppy. So, I spent a day unpicking and recutting this linen into this straighter leg version with a fitted waistband and zipper. Love how the centre back seam makes it easy to adjust for weight changes – clever design!
👚 Top: A toile of Burda 5820
This started life as a dress with a neat V-neck bodice. I skipped the skirt panel and added a side zipper for a breezy summer top. The fabric is perfect for hot weather – light, breathable, and doesn’t cling.
Burda patterns never fail to impress with their thoughtful details. The dress bodice is usually fully lined, but I trialled it for this top without lining thanks to the neckline facings.
