Customising Your Pauline Alice Ayora Jacket

When you get the opportunity to work with this animal print in pink, cotton twill is addictive.

My husband hates me wearing animal prints but he loved me wearing this print. Not that I growl or anything but he said, you look good in those colours.
Hooray for me!

Last year I made 2 Pauline Alice Ayora jackets. One in black and the second one in lime. I wore them all the time both last winter and now (it’s winter here).

The black version was sewn straight from the pattern.

In the lime version I shortened the pockets by 3cm.

For this version, I added 6cm to the length of the jacket. I could have added darts to this version but I will for the next version, in black of course.

This version has no buttons because I will be sourcing them, or large metal snaps. I’m on the prowl for those as we speak.

After wearing the original jacket, on this jacket I also lowered the neckline for a more Vneckline. Don’t ask me for instructions about this change.

I also added an internal pocket to both sides of the jacket. The instructions only suggest 1 internal pocket.
The fabric irons well. I could mark the notches easily so I could sew the facings easily.

On this version, I did not add the wadding. I simply wanted a jacket. I wanted a freaking bright jacket. I wanted a post Barbie jacket.

This print was everything I wanted.

Now I can play with this version and add some darts to it and work out how the next version will be.

I’ve lined this jacket with my own fabric and I suggest you get a bright and fun lining to go with this print. Find a brilliant animal print lining if there is one…just say’n.

Love how this print really rocks!
