With a few notions from my stash including the lining, here’s my plaid anorak.

I added the pocket from Style Arc Grace coat that was in my stash. It’s a huge pocket and worked for this anorak.

The Kelly hood is a fave of mine so it had to be added to this anorak. For the techie sewists, I sewed the hood under the collar. It I wanted a more functional hood I would increase the front closure to overlap and close with either buttons or snaps.
Sewaholic’s Minoru jacket has no pockets hence the variety you’ll find online where pockets are added depending on the sewists needs. This is my first welt pocket for some time so I relearned how to welt like a boss. It also helped there was a jacket with welt pocket on episode 4 of the latest Great British Sewing Bee, to prompt me.
The jacket is raglan and the gathers at the collar base make it a really embracing fit when it’s cold outside.
I’ve added a coat hook into the collar base if I need to hang the anorak.
This time I sized up the anorak to a size 12 from a size 8. All the additional lengths from 2012 version were still the same.
For me this fabric was wonderful. It’s got the colours I wanted and the fabric itself gathers really easily.

My zipper is one I bought online. I tend to keep an eye out for long open ended zippers with gorgeous zipper pulls and zipper teeth. It’s an obsession because I can never find the zipper I need for my latest project.
There’s a two way opening black zipper in my stash that is meant for another jacket… Just say’n.
All the interfacings on the collar and centre front pieces make this a really sharp looking anorak.
Here’s a tip, use the plaid as your waist elastic guide. I did and this has the have been the easiest sew I have ever done!

On Instagram, this jamming theme was part of Make a garment a month sewalong in June.
Cheers and stay warm if you’re living in cold climates.
