I think this worked out well. What do you think?

The big white buttons were in my notion stash. As you can see, the buttons have a texture so it they fit well with the white on this print.

The tricky part was adding width at the centre back seam. The centre back button closure sits neatly together on the original pattern and that seam isn’t a straight seam. I think I almost came ‘unstuck’ trying to get the width added properly.

If you are short, do you change the centre back vent on your skirts/dress too?

Years ago I started making this change when I did a sense check before wearing a pencil skirt. What I saw in the mirror when I checked the centre back vent felt embarrassing.

Now there’s a step when sewing the pockets on the dress that I overlooked. On the next version, I followed the pocket construction properly and it does make the pockets sit flatter on my front.

Lastly while the fit of this version made me do a happy dance.

I’ve used Style Arc Patterns Peggy dress when I could wear size 8 but now that’s not the case hence my needing to size up with pattern without buying a new one.
