Stylish Russafa Jacket: Pattern Testing Insights

I’ve been testing patterns again for Pauline Alice patterns and a new Russafa jacket was released last month.

What you see here are the 2 test versions I made and now love how I can use them for hoping outside when it’s cold and still looking great.

At the moment you can only get this pattern on the Pauline Alice Patterns website and as always this pattern is available in English, Spanish and French.

I only wanted to make the brocade version but I didn’t have enough fabric so I used a black denim with sparkles for the front pocket pieces. To add to the sparkle I used silver jeans buttons on the jacket.

Then I grabbed the dark yellow denim from my stash and tried making this again in just 1 colour this time.
Again I used metal type buttons on this jacket too.

Both jackets have vest buckles at the back of these jackets. All the fabrics and notions are from my stash.

You can see the shoulders are dropped and I think that’s the style these days. The instructions are really great and easy to follow.

If I make this again I may or may not go down 1 size. The reason is I will be wearing this jacket with lots of layers underneath so a close fit isn’t what this jacket needs.
