Vogue 8805 was a hit when it was first published. This gauze fabric is hot property and I know why😍

You can’t see the seamlines on the dress but I do love how this dress turned out. This gauze fabric is soft and has plenty of body to it. I hope you get some during this current fabric sale.
As you can see I had to use the rest of my fabric for a really useful top, again using Vogue 8805
For my shape, Vogue 8805 still works well. There is some shape to this dress and the key change I made was to lower the front neckline by 3cm. When patterns are above my top collar bones, that’s too high so I always drop the neckline for these patterns.

High necklines are what sloper/basic pattern blocks provide so I’m always happy to drop the neckline down.
If you have a ruler with any type of curve, use that to help ensure the neckline still has a lovely curve when you drop it to suit your body.
So of course, when I had enough fabric left for a top, I quickly cut out another Vogue 8805 in the same gauze and made the top version. This wasn’t a planned make but I’m so grateful I had enough of this gauze to get 2 garments from it.

Enjoy your future double gauze fabric. It’s the ‘it’ fabric.
